Programming

Programming for me means also automation, some task that is automatically done with a simple click or no click at all, like a domino piece that falls and lets the adjacent pieces fall gradually.

Lord of The Pass (v 1.1) - (download here)

The main task of this application is to save your many different usernames and passwords so you wont need to remember every time you have to, it saves your usernames and passwords in an encrypted file inside your computer, so that other users or intruders wont recognize the content.

If you have only 1 username and password that you use for all your logins ,then this program is not for you. And it is not recommended that you use the same login information in different websites, me personally I have lots of different logins.

The interface design is based on "The Lord of The Rings" theme.
When you run the application for the first time, the application will guide you in steps to start using it, it's very simple to use.

Starting the program

When you start using this application, all you need to remember is 3 passwords that will give you access to all your other passwords, these 3 main passwords are called:

  1. "the magic word"
  2. "the wizard's spell"
  3. "What does the ring say?"

Of course when you run the application for the first time, it will ask you to enter those 3 words, and all you have to do is to memorize only these 3 words. (note: in this version you can't change your passwords after you enter them for the first time).

The first screen (fig. 1) will ask you for the 3 words that you chose, if you or anyone else tries to enter with wrong passwords, the application will say "Thou shall not pass!" and close.

If the correct 3 words are provided, you will have the access to all your login information that you've saved (fig. 2) .
If you are running the program for the first time, the list on the left will be empty because you haven't saved any information yet, the application will guide you with steps on how to save information.

Adding a login information

To add your first login data, click on 'New' button and the application will change its appearance to (fig. 3) with 'Add' and 'Cancel' buttons.
Start adding the 'Source', it could be the link to the website you want to save your login information for, or it could be your email provider name, anything you like, (note: once you enter the source it cannot be modified later unless you delete the record and start adding it again).

In the second and third boxes, 'Username' & 'password' enter the information you want to be saved (note: you can't leave any of the first three boxes empty).

In the final box 'Description' you can enter any additional information regarding the source or maybe a different username and password for the same source, or just leave it blank.

Next you want to accept by clicking 'Add' or discard the information by clicking 'Cancel' , if you click 'Add', your information will be saved and the source name will be displayed in the list on the left, where you can access it whenever you need by clicking on it.
If you click cancel the information will simply be discarded, and nothing will be added to the list.

Modifying saved information

When you want to modify a login information that you've previously added, you have to select it by clicking on its source name from the list, the information will be displayed, where you can change it and click 'Modify' , (note: you can't modify the source data)

Deleting saved information

If you want to delete a record, simply select it from the list and click the 'Delete' button, the application will ask you if you are sure to permanently delete the saved information, click 'yes' and it's gone.

Don't forget to close the application by clicking 'Block the Gates to the Castle' button.

There might be other versions available later, with an option to change your 3 main passwords for example.

Have fun and stay tuned!
